The Pompton Lakes Business Improvement District works to create a “place of destination” and a true “Highlands Gateway”—a warm, clean and safe downtown where people can shop, dine and stroll.
By encouraging local support and thoughtful investment, we help strengthen existing businesses, attract new opportunities and contribute to the economic vitality of Pompton Lakes.

How the BID Works
Serving Businesses. Accountable to the District.
The Pompton Lakes Business Improvement District serves designated commercial properties and businesses within the district. It coordinates programs, improvements and events that support a stronger downtown and a more welcoming experience for residents and visitors.
Board-Led Organization
The BID is guided by a volunteer board representing district and community interests, with day-to-day programs coordinated by the Executive Director.
Invested Downtown
BID programs are supported primarily through a special assessment on designated commercial properties, with funds directed to approved district services and initiatives.
Open Meetings
Monthly meetings provide an opportunity to hear project updates, learn about current priorities and participate in conversations about downtown Pompton Lakes.
