The Visual Improvement Grant Program is administered by the Pompton Lakes Business Improvement District (BID) through its Visual Improvement Committee (VIC). The program is designed to support property owners and businesses within the BID by providing financial assistance for exterior improvements that enhance the appearance, functionality, and overall character of storefronts throughout the district.

Through this program, eligible applicants may apply for funding across several improvement categories, including signage, façade enhancements, awnings, exterior lighting, and business relocation assistance. These grants are intended to encourage reinvestment, improve visibility, and create a cohesive and attractive downtown environment that benefits both businesses and the broader community.

All improvements funded through the program must align with the BID’s Design Guidelines, which ensure that upgrades are visually consistent, high quality, and complementary to the character of Pompton Lakes’ business district. Applicants are strongly encouraged to review the Design Guidelines prior to submitting an application.
